Mark my words: this man will be in the final 2. He won’t win — AGAIN — because people will probably be bitter. This man has to be the greatest survivor of all the seasons, hands down.
His move last night was ballsy, risky, and the best blindside I have ever witnessed in the last 20 seasons.
Don’t know what happened? Spoilers follow:
After realizing that his tight alliance with Parv was on the outs with everyone else in the tribe, Russell needed to act quick to protect himself and his alliance. The rest of the tribe (Coach, Jerri, Sandra, Rob, Courtney, and Tyson) decided to split the vote to 3 - Parv, 3 - Russell, just in case Russell decided to use the hidden immunity then one of them would be voted off regardless. Meanwhile, Parv, Russell, and Danielle decide the person to go after is Tyson since Rob had the individual immunity. Before tribal council Russell approaches Tyson and tells him that he realizes there is no way to save Parv and he’d rather save himself so he’ll also be voting for Parv. This risky and bold move makes Tyson SWITCH his vote from Russell to Parv to “just get her out of the game.” While in tribal council Russell, of course, plays the hidden immunity but gives it to Parv to protect her. While the rest of the tribe assumed Russell would be voted off because of the original split vote, Tyson realized he was f.u.c.k.e.d. The votes came down to 4 - Parv, 2 - Russell, and 3 - Tyson. Well played, Russell, well played.
