According to Star magazine, next year will be American Idol’s 10th and final season. “Producers know Simon really makes the show, and they feel like they could go only one season without him and the quality will suffer after that.” Everyone involved wants the show to go out on a high note, so “they’re going to bring in an all-star list of guest judges, including past winners like Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood.” [via]

American Idol’s Top 11

[via]

American Idol’s finalists tackled 11 of Billboard’s No. 1 hits Tuesday, a vague theme that allowed for just about anything. Lee DeWyze started strong, honoring the late Alex Chilton with the Box Tops’ The Letter. The judges raved when Crystal Bowersox channeled Janis Joplin for Me and Bobby McGee (the night’s obvious song choice). Save for Simon Cowell, they also praised Siobhan Magnus’ show-closing Superstition. Beyond that, though, they couldn’t find much to get excited about.

Paige Miles and Tim Urban had two of the season’s worst performances with Against All Odds and Crazy Little Thing Called Love, respectively. If fans stepped up their voting to save them, some of the evening’s mediocre performers — Katie Stevens, Andrew Garcia and Didi Benami — could find themselves in the cross hairs Wednesday.

Here are my rankings:

  1. Crystal Bowersox, Me and Bobby McGee
  2. Lee DeWyze, The Letter
  3. Michael Lynche, When a Man Loves a Woman
  4. Siobhan Magnus, Superstition
  5. Casey James, The Power of Love
  6. Aaron Kelly, I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing
  7. Didi Benami, You’re No Good
  8. Andrew Garcia, I Heard It Through the Grapevine
  9. Katie Stevens, Big Girls Don’t Cry
  10. Tim Urban, Crazy Little Thing Called Love
  11. Paige Miles, Against All Odds

Now, now, now… I mostly agree with those rankings but check past the READ ME for more details!

Watching Pam Anderson dance on Dancing with the Stars was like watching a dancing porno. It was HIGH-LARIOUS!

Thoughts…

… on tonight’s Dancing with the Stars?? Impressed? Disappointed?

I think, overall, the dance ability has been better than the past seasons. Pamela Anderson and Kate Gosselin have yet to perform and I feel like they are either going to surprise everyone or suck beyond recognition.

I keep seeing previews for the show “V” during the commercial breaks — Did people really watch that show and is it going to be picked up for a second season? Hope not.

The Countdown…

… BEGINS!

Only 84 more days until my beloved True Blood returns to HBO. If you aren’t caught up you can catch an encore of season two Sunday nights at 10PM with snip-bits of the third season right after the credits.

Have you read the books? If you haven’t you should. The Sookie Stackhouse Series (also, “The Southern Vampire Chronicles”) has nine novels out and one compilation of short stories featuring main and minor characters. All works have been written by the FABULOUS Charlaine Harris. Alan Ball, the creator of the series, has offered a different take on the series itself, but follows closely with timelines and character relationships. I’m excited to see how season 3 plays out. Honestly, book 4 was my favorite (as I am a huge TEAM ERIC fan) and I really, really, really want that to be portrayed in season 4 but I would be getting a bit ahead of myself if I was already excited for that!

Book 10 comes out THIS May, probably the same week as season 2 drops on DVD. Obviously, I’ll be there to purchase both.

Check out the show if you haven’t — and don’t make the misconception that this show or these books compare to the Twilight series. Don’t get me wrong, I like the Twilight series (TEAM JACOB!), but Harris’ books and Ball’s series surpasses the Twilight franchise. In fact, it is in a whole other realm of greatness.

Oh, Andrew Garcia — Why can’t you perform like this again?

Monday: TV night!

I love Mondays!

I am a media junkie! Tonight is the season premiere of Dancing With the Stars and United States of Tara. KATE GOSSELIN FTW! Has anyone else noticed that Derek Hough always seems to get partnered with extremely talented women or extremely attractive women (most the time his partner falls into both categories)?

I don’t really care if Kate Gosselin wins or fails on DWTS, I just love hearing about her crazy diva behavior on and off the set so I want to keep seeing the stories roll in!

What do YOU think about DWTS?

I can’t wait, can YOU?

The L Word was a groundbreaking, unique and interesting show, that anybody not matter his or her sexual orientation could relate to.
I’ve been watching this show on Netflix’s instant play back. I remember first seeing this series the summer after my freshman year in college. I stayed in town and lived with a friend who loved the show. I wish I would have continued to follow the show while it was on air, I feel like a late bloomer. Anyways, I’m pimping out the show because it is amazing and everyone should give it a chance.
